Should Men Wear Leather Bracelets?

Hey you,

Have you recently changed your mind about something?

So why am I talking to you about a change of heart (or mind) when all you want to know is what’s new at Clark & Taft and should men wear leather bracelets? Well, before I make my announcement and give you the answer to your burning question, let me tell you a short story.

For the longest time, my focus - and Clark & Taft’s focus - has been on designing and crafting high-quality personalized waxed canvas bags and leather accessories. But did you know that back in the day, circa 2008, at the very start of my design career, I actually made men’s leather jewelry?

I discontinued it in 2013 because the waxed canvas bag line took off and I was advised by “top marketers” to narrow my focus and build a brand around one category - bags.

Fast forward to 2018, sitting at the bar in my favorite Austin-based coffee shop/brewery with my buddy by my side, we had a brainstorming session over a few pints of fresh brew.

Always admiring his style and his ability to keep his pulse on the latest fashion trends, I popped the question: “So what if I re-launched the men’s jewelry line?”

🙄 - was literally the expression on his face followed by “Silvia, a man wearing a bracelet?! Have you seen ME wearing leather bracelets?! Seriously?! No.”

I sheepishly looked at his wrist, then down at my beer, took a sip, and buried the topic… And my dream… And shut my intuition up. But not for too long…

The idea of the re-launch of the men’s jewelry line has been burning ever since. So much so that I re-launched the first part - the leather jewelry - for the holiday season last year.

And YOU, my dear customers, proved the “top marketers,” and my trend-setting buddy WRONG.

Because it was a HUGE SUCCESS this past Father’s Day holiday season. You purchased over 300 leather jewelry pieces in less than 2 months - bracelets and necklaces - for yourself or as gifts for your loved ones.

And I can’t thank you enough 🥹

Now, back to your question - Should Men Wear Bracelets?

Absolutely! In fact, men have been wearing bracelets for centuries. Historically, bracelets have been worn by men as symbols of wealth, status, and power. Ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks all wore bracelets as part of their attire, often made of precious metals and adorned with gemstones.

In contemporary times, bracelets continue to be a popular accessory for men, reflecting personal style and taste. They can signify different aspects of one’s personality, from ruggedness and strength to sophistication and elegance. Whether it’s a beaded bracelet, a leather band, or a metal cuff, bracelets can be a versatile addition to any man’s wardrobe.

And NOW back to my announcement - Introducing Our New Men's Beaded Bracelets Line
