Clark & Taft founder, designer & maker. A Bulgarian who moved to the U.S. at 20 with nothing more than the burning passion to study drafting, I am proud to have created a boutique brand that crafts American-made waxed canvas aprons, dopp kits, and leather goods.

Drafting changed everything. It taught me to see products the way an architect sees a building: strong foundation, sound structure, signature detailing.

The apron was named by GQ top gift for the guy who has everything.

I am not sharing this to brag (maybe a little - it’s been my dream to get featured in GQ ever since I started my business in 2009)...

I am often asked: “How on Earth did you get started in doing this?”

I didn’t start Clark & Taft to make more stuff.

I started it because I couldn’t find products that felt good enough to give and keep.

I went searching for the perfect birthday gift for my dad: he's always loved grilling & crafting. I wanted to create an apron worthy of those rituals.

But most aprons I found were either flimsy, cheesy, or painfully boring.

They stained. They burned. They felt stiff and heavy.

So I designed one myself.

I chose thick industrial-strength waxed canvas and Horween Chromexcel leather that resists hardening - both classic American-made materials known for their durability, water resistance, and ability to age beautifully.

Then I added the details that matter: a better fit, pockets and side loops that keep everything you need within reach, and personalization with your name, initials, or brand.

The result is an apron that doesn’t just protect your clothes.
