Quality Materials

We proudly work with local American businesses for our materials, and our bags are manufactured in-house in Austin, TX and at a small-run sewing workshop in Portland, OR.

✓ Martexin Original Wax Cotton Canvas is a durable, natural, time-tested, and water-repellent fabric. The American family-owned company has used the same process for over 170 years. Duck Canvas with wax finish was the first choice waterproof clothing for the British armed forces during World War II and the traditional fabric used by the US government for equipage items. As the fabric ages, it develops a well-worn and comfortable patina, unique for every bag. The waxed finish is environmentally friendly, food and pharmaceutical graded, completely non-hazardous.

✓ Leather – The Horween Leather Company has set the standard for the highest quality leathers since 1905. It is the exclusive supplier of leather for National Football League footballs, and supplier of the leather used for National Basketball Association basketballs. Processed and finished in the United States, Chromexcel is characterized by a rich pull-up in full aniline, hand rubbed finishes. The process of creating it requires "at least 89 separate processes taking 28 working days". Chromexcel was used in engine seals on tanks and other heavy equipment during World War II. Made to this day with old world craftsmanship, modern Chromexcel carries on a long history of superior comfort and durability.
